Inspector Jason Overland

Jason is the Central Patrol Inspector, Sunshine Coast District, and  manages the delivery of policing services to Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Sippy Downs, Nambour and Palmwoods. He was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast and left to commence his policing career when he graduated from Caloundra State High School in 1984.  Jason has spent the majority of his service as a Detective in specialist and covert units and on external secondments to other agencies such as the (then) Criminal Justice Commission, Queensland Crime Commission and the Queensland Crime and Misconduct Commission.  He was an investigator at Ethical Standards Command before being appointed to his current role  in 2013.  Along the way Jason has completed some study and holds undergraduate (Bachelor Degrees) in Justice (QUT) and Business, has postgraduate qualifications in finance and leadership, and is currently putting the finishing touches on his MBA at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Jason is married to the love of his life, has three adult children and a groodle, and when he is not working he likes to keep fit, play with race cars, surf and play music with his friends in their little 80s cover band ‘The Flying Pigs’.

Jason has a strong belief that policing needs to move into the prevention space to be most effective and he feels that as a community we need to invest in our young people and any investment we make in this area will be repaid many times over.

Sea FM Morning Show Hosts,
BarRat and Juelz

Juelz grew up in the outback of western NSW and spent most of her
childhood pig chasing and rabbit hunting, living off the land. Fun loving, down to earth, loves a good laugh and will take on any challenge given.
As of, Jan 2022, she is 34 years old, single (not desperate, but the
desperation may change after 35), has never been married and has no kids - much to her mums despise. She is an amazing devoted aunty to her three nieces, Nasha, Nadia and Andy.
She started off her radio career 8 years ago when she was the radio station cleaner. Her passion for radio has taken her right across the country and given her so much life experience.

BarRat is one half of the 91.9 Sea FM breakfast radio duo that is ‘BarRat and Juelz’. He’s been in radio since he was 17 years old and, aside from spending time with his beautiful wife and 2 gorgeous kids, there’s not much else he’d rather be doing.

It might surprise you to know that his name is not actually BarRat. It’s Adam! Name’s aside, he loves a good craft beer, he’s mad about the Manly Sea Eagles, Sunshine Coast Falcons and local footy in general. He could give a chilli eating competition a solid nudge and could probably rattle of the name of every Pearl Jam song ever written before entrees arrive.

When he’s not behind the radio mic keeping the Sunny Coast entertained, you’ll usually find BarRat climbing Mt Coolum, at the beach or running his very own Dad’s taxi service.

Sea FM Weekdays for 3-6pm Show Hosts,
Elly and Becks

Mad rapper and the pride of WA, Elly Chaney (or E-Chain) is one half – and some may say the better half, of the ‘Elly and Becks’ drive show on 91.9 SeaFM. Elly loves a party, especially a themed one and is generally just a joy to be around.

Despite her petite stature, she has a huge heart and could crush a cheeseburger faster than just about anyone you’ll ever come across. Even Ronald himself. Seriously. It’s hectic.

Along with a passionate love for cold beer, Elly loves AFL and is a loyal West Coast Eagles fan. With her 3 university degrees, it turns out Elly is something of a triple threat. Girl can rap, she’s super smart and has been known to bust some solid dance moves too.

A loveable larrikin, he’ll give just about anything a crack and has been doing his thing in radio for a solid 20 years. Becks loves dogs and kids – and can’t wait to become a Dad in the coming months. A DIY tragic and classic weekend warrior, when he’s not behind the mic dishing out gags and fart jokes, you’re almost certain to find him at the hardware or tackle store.

Becks would trade life on solid ground for life on the water any day of the week, as long as his beautiful bride was by his side (Hi Lisa!).

Becks possesses an incredible level of determination and commitment. He’s never let his Cerebral Palsy diagnosis, which happened as a toddler define him. Instead, it’s a driving force that inspires him put 150% of himself into everything he does.

Every child deserves the chance to fit in.
