Who operates the Inclusive Kids Community Grants Fund?
The Inclusive Kids Community Grants Fund is an important initiative of IFYS Limited (IFYS), a non-government, community based organisation that, in its various manifestations, has operated across Queensland for 30 years, providing a range of specialist support and intervention programs for children, young people and families.
Working closely with other non-government and government agencies, IFYS operates from numerous locations throughout Queensland ranging from Toowoomba through to Cairns in the far north of the State and offers accommodation, support, disability and counselling services to these communities.
IFYS aims to provide opportunities, in accepting environments, for children, young people and families to take responsibility for their own lives and to assist them to actively participate in the community of their choice.
IFYS believes that:
- When they require assistance, children, young people and families have a right to access services and support that value flexibility, responsiveness and individual uniqueness;
- Children, young people and families deserve to be accepted in a caring and non-judgmental manner, and have the right to make mistakes and to learn from these mistakes;
- Children, young people and families have a right to reach their full potential and to live independently in their community of choice;
- Living independently in a household or community includes acceptance of the responsibilities of a resident of that household or community.
IFYS sees that the Inclusive Kids Community Grants Fund complements the giving nature of our employee-driven contributions and our community fundraising initiatives. The Inclusive Kids Community Grants Fund was established to support high quality, viable community care for individuals across the various communities in which it operates.
The Inclusive Kids Community Grants Fund is guided by Reference Boards that meet 4 times per year to assess applications and distribute all funds available within the funding pool.
